That's what friends are for...

Met up with a few friends over the past week...

1st: S Lin – my ex-colleague from my previous company...i think we were colleagues for abt 1 yr+...for a period of time, we had our own “office”, so in a way we 朝夕相对 and developed a strong friendship...we met up on mon, n she treated me to pizza hut’s cheesy bite fondue...not forgetting the necklace she gave me, a purple crystal within a crown...so beautiful :)

2nd: HY – my classmate cum buddy from jc, U, then acca...where we “fought” many “battles” together...our over-10 yrs of friendship...first she smsed me on mon, “missy. Dun think I have forgotten your birthday is on this wed. so u free to meet for dinner tomorrow or wed?” I think everytime my birthday, she will be most happy to announce that I’m now of the same age as she is...haha...as we studied almost the same things and work almost in the same field, we have a lot of common things to share...be it happy or sad things or complaints...we can easily understand the other party...so on wed, we went to ichiban to eat...we talked a lot n ate a lot...she gave me a very nice top wrapped with my favourite Disney character – Cinderella...she still remembers :) 一切尽在不言中 :)

3rd: M – my friend’s friend actually...we got to know each other when we came together to help in our common friend MX’s wedding...can see that she’s a worthy friend from the way she puts her heart n effort into making sure everything turns out well for MX...from then onwards, we also become friends...yesterday, she smsed me whether I free to meet for dinner...since it’s the first time she asked me out, I gave her 100% of “face”...we walked walked, then finally settled our dinner...she’s quite an interesting person...who likes to laugh...so I reckon, no one will feel bored with her around...n she’s always the one to spice things up... :)

My fren has a shuai ge page, so here I am putting up a picture of a shuai ge to “compete” with hers... :p

I was telling my brother the “relationship” between the shuai ge in the pic n me, he is 715 and I’m 725 :p

He almost fainted :)

Sinful July...

2 friends treated me for lunch ytd...@ al dente...the food is quite nice, just that the serving is a bit small...for someone big-eater like me :p

S had seafood spaghetti + latte, H had a mushroom set (a ‘big’ mushroom + mushroom soup), while I had a crab mud lasagna + kiwi freeze...yummy...

First H said she wasn’t too hungry, so ordered mushrooms...Then after finishing, H complained that she’s hungry...so we ‘adjourned’ to our next location...initially we said dome, but when we walked past nydc, I said why not here...so we went in to commit our sins...S ordered a mocha-misu, H ordered a jedi mudster, while I ordered a mango tango (cheesecake + ice-cream), and French fries to share...we "consoled" "lied" to ourselves by saying it’s only once in a yr...but with 3 of us, that makes it 3 times a yr! haha...nevermind la, “life is short, eat dessert first!”

七月天2...

昨天花了一段时间把上一篇的故事打完...今天又来一次, 自讨苦吃...就是想用华文来写...

延续上一个话题，又有一件开心的事，就是我又换位了...哈哈...
形容一下我的工作位子吧，就像一个"十"字的四个角落，本来一开始我是坐在右上角的，但后来有一个机会换了位子，换去右下角...坐了一段日子，最近因为asst mgr 的离去，mgr 问我要不要换位...Because I cannot quite stand facing someone I dun like everyday…所以我又换位了！现在是左下角...老板还真体恤我喔...眼不见为净，工作起来应该会更好！谢谢老板！ 换了位子，竟然有同事问我是不是升职了？ Aiyoh, 我只是坐了asst mgr 的“坐位”，而不是作了“asst mgr” 的位子...haha...

刚才我的弟弟msn给我一个mtv, 就在此分享吧, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h27hWSeVsAM...8分钟的一首韩语歌，虽听不懂歌词，可是故事却超感人的...一定要看到最后，才会知道竟然是出乎预料的结局...

令人期待的七月天...

对我而言，七月是一个很特别的月份，也是我最喜欢，最期盼的月份...

虽然，人生总有不愉快的事情发生，但如果能将快乐放大，悲伤放小，那岂不是很好？这个七月过了一半，有一些不开心的家事发生，不知该怎么去处理，就尽量不去想，希望事情能尽快结束...

可是，令我开心的事还是有很多的，
1．买了郭富城演唱会的票，多亏有知音人陪伴，不然一个人的我，不知到底会不会 “敢敢” 一个人去呢？虽然是9月的演唱会，可是一想到郭富城就很高兴，真期待, 希望郭富城会唱那些脍炙人口的歌，如，我是不是该安静走开，爱的呼唤，天涯，伤心的话留到明天再说，信鸽，etc...
2．和同事买了swan lake on ice 的演出，同样的也是在9月...看来9月也是值得期待的月份...
3. 那天和认识十多年的几位朋友聚会，她们安排了一个惊喜给我...是超感动的...难得大家聚在一起，虽然不是‘当天’，但重要的是，她们的这一份心...
4. 昨天，去医院做了basic health screening...这算是公司的一种员工福利吧, 因为是免费的 :p ...其实非常怕抽血，但还是去了, 做做检查是好的...抽的时候，眼睛是闭着的，口里还不停地念着，我要坚强, 我要坚强... 我真是没用啊...haha...可是抽了过后，竟发现没有我所想象的那么痛，看来小时候的影阴，应该是不见了... 真高兴...
5. 已经有一些朋友约我出去了，证明她们记得，也很高兴她们有我的心...
6. 接下来，应该会收到一些平常没联络的朋友的短讯吧...

所以呢，开心的事是多的...不开心的, 暂时放一旁吧, 暂时先做鸵鸟... 好让我先过完 这个让我期待已久的七月天吧... :)

Friday the 13th…

It’s a mixed feelings day today...

First, it’s the last day of my asst mgr...had the same kind of sad feelings when i wrote my previous entry...she gave me her fav “Emily” card holder...well, i wish she would give me her mirror instead...but that’s her precious treasure, so she won’t give it to me :p ... she cried...she said she will cry when people close to her leave, but she won’t when she’s the one leaving...but she did...well, i also did the same when i wrote my previous entry...the office is like her home...to leave the place that she has ‘lived’ for so long...n the many yrs she had given to the company...it’s not easy to let go...n i’m sure she can’t bear to leave me too :p just like i can’t bear to see her go...

Second, i was in for a big surprise when i met up w my band friends...sulin, liyan, aiming, meixia n lianjia...i didn’t expect them to plan such a surprise for me...took me off my seat...hehe...but it was really touching lor...thanks friends...these are the friends that i’ve known for the longest yrs...n i know our friendship survive the long long years even though we are always busy / occupied with our own things...but deep inside each of us, i know we stand somewhere...so once again (getting naggy here), thanks for the special arrangement for me n hope u all enjoyed the nite together... =)

1213

My colleague said we shd buy 1213 (4D) as it’s the last date of my 2 colleagues (1 on 12th n the other on the 13th) n it’s also the last 4 digits of our fax number...

These 2 colleagues leaving are from my team...together, they are taking away 16yrs (1 7yrs n the other 9yrs) of experience in this company, in this team...well, I couldn’t imagine myself working so long for a company :p

The one whose last day is today is our senior FA...he “claims” to be my shi-xiong...where in fact he shd be my shi-fu...cos he wants to shorten the “age” gap between the both us...so that day when I was teaching another new colleague, he claimed that he’s her shi-bo, instead of shi-zu...haha...well, he’s a very steady person...no matter what happens, he doesn’t lose his cool...his kindness n patience surpass all of us there...that’s something all of us shd learn from him...so whenever we feel stressed or angry, we will talk to him...n of course not forgetting his ~330pm tea-break where he would help us da-bao kopi n snacks...hmm, tomorrow who will help us da-bao? :p

The other one whose last day is tomorrow is our asst mgr...without her around, life is definitely not the same anymore, more difficult...she’s really my shi-fu in almost every aspect...i started out with GHL n GHL is her “baby” all along before becoming an AM...even as an AM, she’s more focused on GHL (well the mgr is more towards MEH)...last yr, we had a satisfying / fulfilling time doing GHL budget together...she said she was very happy to have worked with me...n she commented I put in my 70%, she topped it up with her 20%, n together we gave our 90%...i was very happy w her comments...at least my hard work did pay off...when I had to give up GHL to do MEH, both of us were very sad...to her, she had trained me up well n shd continue with it, but I had to do something else...n she had to train someone new from scratch again...not an easy task...to me, GHL is my “first love”, so I have deep feelings for it...now, as a MEH FA, of course, I have to swing myself more towards it, then she will say I’m a betrayer...n whose side am I on? Ha...so I said, I’m in the middle...in my 1 n a half yrs there, I’ve enjoyed working w her...the things – be it kaypoh or “juicy” or boliao or whatever, that we shared...life would definitely be different on Monday...n the many days to come...n this yr’s budget...although I’m not doing GHL, I would miss her, the kind of physical n mental support that she gives...she’s not just a colleague to me...she’s a friend...n i always joke that I will wait for her son, Kieren to grow up then marry him :p

天下没有不散的宴席，the time has come to say goodbye...good luck to the both of u...both of u will definitely be missed...hope u 2 really enjoyed the farewell lunch we had yesterday :)

Jarvis & Lynda 7.7.07

This is the first time I attended a Christian wedding...@ the Singapore Art Museum...Jarvis is my sec1 - 2 classmate n we didn’t actually keep in touch, even though we met each other during some class gatherings or classmates’ weddings...so I was very surprised how he got my hp number, n also inviting me to his wedding ceremony...nevertheless, thanks for inviting me to your special day...n congrats to Jarvis & Lynda (again) – wishing both of them a blissful marriage n happiness always =)

Classmates’ or frens’ weddings are always a chance for frens to meet up, so i had the chance to meet up some of my sec sch frens...to name them, liyan, youju (dun really know him :p), chaohui, lin han (n gf), shihan, yongjun, ann boon & wife - junhui...

After the ceremony, we started to chat...chaohui asked what I’m working as n where, well he seems to know my company...but when I said I’m a financial analyst, he asked my company needs financial analysts meh? Ha...i’m sure he must have a wrong impression of my work...n sure enough, he thought we are doing investments for the company...ha...quite funny...so I explained my job to him...my job is like management accountant...doing analysis, management reporting for the company...very far from his “imagination”...ha...n he himself is an architect...clear cut job description...n he said the mrt line near to SAM, SMU, is his company’s project...shihan is an engineer who’s trying to find a new job cos his current company may be undergoing retrenchment soon...lin han is in IT line - a programmer...

When we sat down for lunch, an identity crisis happened...chaohui was trying to remember when he last saw us...ha, then he said he saw me at someone’s wedding...so I said, I only attended junfeng’s wedding last yr...lin han & shi han also attended junfeng’s wedding...but chaohui said he didn’t attend...so he asked what abt ann boon’s wedding? I said I didn’t even know...then qing wei’s wedding? ha, I also didn’t know lor...so the weddings he attended I didn’t...the ones I attended, he didn’t...so, when did he last see me? Hmm...on the bus home, I thought...ya, we all saw each other last yr...but not @ a wedding but @ a funeral...lucky none of us remembered the incident at that time, cos it’s not auspicious...

昨天在93.3听到这首歌，马上把它录了下来...喜欢这首歌很久了...喜欢它的美妙旋律和歌词...

最喜欢的是，“没人能挡在我的前方 路越难走我越坚强”...让我充满斗志去面对前面要走的路...前面的路也许难走，可是只要有信心，就是成功的一半 =)

NDP07 rehearsal

My fren, HH and I went to watch the NDP07 rehearsal ytd...she got the tics thru her neighbour whose son is in NS...

As it was only a rehearsal, some of things are half presented (to save $, we think :p)...like they only on 1 of the 2 big screens...all the ministers, SM, PM, President were all simulated (well of course, we can't expect them to be present in rehearsals la)...after awhile, all the audiences could ‘automatically’ add the word “simulated” behind the MC’s introduction...quite funny lor cos it's all simultaneous...no Kit Chan or Sebestian Tan (LJ's fav)...fireworks also a small small part...supposedly 3 dragonboats race, but only 1, the other 2 were speedboats... etc...

Overall, this yr’s idea is very cool and special...to have this event held @ marina...I like the sea and sea breeze and i quite like this yr’s performance because they used a lot of purple lightings...purple is such a soothing color :p ... so compatible with the sea and sky... ha...
