Last day of 2010

Time really flies very fast for the year of 2010...

What have i achieved over the past year?

Hmm...i finally got my driving licence...which i think is my biggest achievement of the year...

Next year, W and I will be embarking on a new journey of our lives...and that's a lifetime commitment and responsibility that both of us have no experience in...We hope to be able to learn as we grow and give her the best that we can...

2011, here we come!

End of 2010

It's been a busy year this 2010...no off-peak period at all...we used to be able to 'enjoy' a bit in May-Jun, and Nov-Dec but it didn't happen...wonder what's wrong...anyway...it's over...

Finally, it's a off-work week for me to relax and do housework...haha...and prepare for the new year... :)

Project D

Have been super busy these few months being involved in some ways or another in Project D...and these few weeks have been super intensive...spending more than 12 hours each day in the office...but i'm considered very lucky as i'm spared coming back on weekends due to my 'special' condition now...so i can't complain too much compared to my colleagues...

Glad that it's finally coming to an end...23 Dec 12 noon to be exact...

Now, still in office waiting...

Long weekend

this is a long awaited long weekend...after this, it's gonna be a few hectic work weeks ahead till the end of Oct...

On fri, we invited a few frens who were all previously from PW over for a reunion...all 3 of them are mothers except me...it was a fun but short gathering...luckily the husbands were around such that they could take care of the kids while the women talk...haha...

On sat, had a craving for bbq stingray n kung bao frog legs...so asked W to go AMK hawker to eat...however, to my dismay, the frog legs stall has moved...quite disappointed not to be able to satisfy my craving...

Today is a day for doing nothing...haha...

Slow down

sometimes i think i walk too fast (i know someone doesn't think so :p) and eat too fast...

now, i'm trying to slow down myself a bit...esp on walking...

买东西，吃东西part 1

First time to Macau and i feel Macau is quite an easy place to walk walk...after checking into the hotel, we headed to the Margaret de nata cafe to taste the famous Portuguese egg tarts...quite easy to reach after asking around...from there we made our way to Senado Square annd then after walking for a while, we were like, are we here already? Cos the wavy floor looks like it's Senado Sq and then we realised we are there! Didnt know the distance is actually really that short...just continue to walk from there and we reached Ruins of St Pauls...ha...didnt know it's so near...

Tried the Wong Chi Kei restuarant...which is one of the famous Cantonese restuarant here...hmm...ok, the fried wanton is special but the crispness didnt quite last...the wanton mee and fried rice are just ok-ok...

We tried looking for the 义顺牛奶公司for the 双皮炖奶but couldnt find until we asked around...it's nice! We ordered the cold one even though i think the hot one shd be better...but the weather was so scorching that i couldnt have the hot one...ha...

Then we walked around...from one hotel to another...

We tried our luck at Sands but no luck...haha...then we went over to the Macau Fisherman's Wharf...W was saying, why are we going to the Fisherman's Wharf, it's like didnt we go to the one in Taipei? Until he saw the Spain 斗牛场settings then he was quite excited...haha...

Then we went to Sands to take the shuttlebus to Venetian...people was saying shd stay there for at least 1 night...hmm...we thought about that but since it's the first time we go to Macau, and we are only there for 1 day, we will be venturing around...if we were to stay at Venetian, we probably wont even want to step out...haha...we agreed, if we were to go back to Macau again, yes, we will stay at the Venetian! :p

Crazy for food...

very impressed by the curry chicken (spicy!) and braised pork rice (that melts in our mouth!) with jap rice and jap egg @ bakerzin...

Not impressed

Went to the Helix bridge and Marina Bay Sands last Sat...but wasn't too impressed...

Helix bridge - hmm, it doesn't seem very grand or magnificent...not sure if it's because we went there in the afternoon and we were distracted by the heat? But i dun think so...

Marina Bay Sands - hmm...maybe the construction hasn't 100% completed...maybe it's due to the influx of those foreigners that are 'attracted' by the casino...it makes me wonder...the hotel seems to be 'downgraded' by the casino...

A few significant events happened on last Sat 17Apr2010…

1. S.H.E and Mayday held their concerts in Spore next to each other at Indoor Stadium and National Stadium respectively…

2. Circle Line stage 1 & 2 opened on the same day…inviting a big crowd to the Stadium station…

3. The end of HH’s singlehood days… :p

Blissful Marriage

Attended a mandarin speaking church wedding on Sat…this is the 2nd time I attended a church wedding…hmm…the first time was at SAM but not very sure whether it’s a church or not…

In the midst of the ceremony, the pastor was reciting how a successful marriage can be worked out…roughly remember he mentioned the importance of 包容, about the loss of keys, how the husband didn’t scold the wife but used another way to end the episode…I think, regardless how long a couple has been married, there’s always something to learn on the way…same for W and I…

Congrats to HH and GM…have a blissful marriage…早生贵子…

P/S: the feather pen left me a very deep impression :p

Something wrong? me or she?

I wonder if there’s something wrong with my eyes…or my memory…recently have been very busy at work…knocked off 920pm, 730pm, 8pm respectively for the past 3 days…not enough quality rest…so I also dunno if what I see is the same as my memory…

First, on Wed, she wore the same dress that she wore last Friday, which is 3 working days ago…

Second, today, she wore the same cardigan that she wore only on Monday, which is 3 working days ago (out of coincidence?)

I was quite stunned when I saw her this morning in that top…is she trying to test my memory or is her memory fading…or she doesn’t wash her clothes frequently…I dunno la…

HY thinks I observe her too much…ha…no lor…who cares about her…just that I happen to notice…and that some clothes are very obvious…for eg., that dress, it’s too noticeable…anyway…maybe it’s her style to repeat her clothes so frequently…which is totally not my style…if it’s like a black normal skirt, I guess it won’t be so obvious as compared to a flowery skirt…

Time passes too fast everyday..not much energy left each day to reflect on what has happened..or dun even have time to stop and think is this what u like doing everyday or is there something else that u would love to do?

Always feel that weekends is too short..dun want to wake up too late on weekends so that I have more time to so what I want or have more time to spend with loved ones...but the tiredness over the working week always leave with not much energy left

1st movie of 2010

Went to watch 14 Blades with the unwilling W…who doesn’t share the same 715 passion as me…but anyway, he went and then “joined” forces with my bro to make fun cum criticize my 715…

Basically, other than 715, I also want to see how Wu Zun “dressed” up like Jack Sparrow and also action film 票房保证Donnie Yen…

I quite like the match of Donnie and Zhao Wei…and I esp like the part where Zhao Wei was forced to impersonate 青龙…锦衣卫是一条有进没有出的一条路, 锦衣卫是为了尊严而战…

But I don’t understand why 玄武(715), supposedly the 2nd in 锦衣卫, can just “die” so fast under 青龙’s sword…hmm…

Complaints

sometimes I wonder why do people complain to people like us who are just following our bosses’ instructions to send out certain things?

Yes, when I sent out instruction A, it was meant to be just instruction A…however, if later my boss asked me to send out B to add on to instruction A, it’s not because I have nothing better to do or I forgot to send out B…and it’s definitely not because I want to add in B…but I would get sarcastic remarks in return, such as, u confirm it’s just B that u want, make up your mind what u want…dun say u want C later on…u all can get from the monthly report…

Some people can just complain the same thing every month…if it’s really so unbearable, then quit la…why complain to us as if it’s our fault…I dare u to complain to your boss…tell her la…why tell us when we can’t help at all? Ask ur boss to get extra help for you la…if u think u have a lot of depts to do, what abt us who are doing the group – be it group accounts or group analysis? Without 1 submission, it’s not the group numbers…when we do analysis, we also need to look at individual companies…then when u all couldn’t meet the deadline, who’s the one who has to bear it? we are the ones…cos we are at the last stage where we have to give to CFO, CEO to review and their deadline is fixed…who says our life is easy? U can only see yourself work late, but can’t see other people working late as well…one colleague said, yes when u work late is because u have too much to do, when we work late, it’s because we are inefficient…

New Lifestyle

The recent most asked questions are, how’s your new lifestyle or how’s your married life?

Well…the main changes are,

1. I’m living in the east now…going to work is just 4 mrt stops, compared to 14 stops previously…I can sleep more in the morning, and I can reach home earlier after work and catch more tv :p

2. My dinner “kakis” are different…if we do not have other appointments, then we will have dinner with MIL and sometimes his brother…

3. We are living on our own…nice feeling but quite a lot of things to do at home…and we got to do them ourselves…cannot “wait” for others to do… :p

4. the distance between house and mrt station has increased…hence the walking increased…then if I’m lazy then I will take bus which is additional expense to me cos it’s SBS buses here…and everyday has to use the overhead bridge at least once…which I dun like since young…

5. used to be able to pop into the shopping mall beside the mrt station and do some shopping or “walk-about” easily…but now, there is no mall here…quite boring…but maybe can save more $...

Overall, I think the changes in my life are still new and exciting in a way... :)
