An off day of an office gal...

Woke up @ 840am (past my start work time :p) then sprung off the bed cos I have dental appt @ 9!...rushed out n was late for 10mins...but I dun like going for dental cos the sound of those things in my mouth is irritating...ha, nevertheless, we shd still make it a habit to go for regular checkup...it was done quite fast...the dentist commented that I dun have any problem except my right upper wisdom tooth that seems to be a bit out of place and he told me to brush more inner so as to better clean it...phew...有惊无险...

@ 935am, I proceeded to mac to have breakfast while browsing a magazine...went home @ abt 10, online for a while, confirm the place to meet with my 2 ex-colleagues...these 2 friends are the people I miss most after leaving the company...i’m glad we are still keeping in touch frequently...so I met them @ abt 1215pm @ MS...had our fav sushi...reminded me of the time when we always had sushi when we were working together...they asked why i took leave today n i said i took leave to do nothing :p ...they updated me abt the happenings of their office while I did the same...btw, one of them won the ndp actual day tics...so lucky! Unlike me...ha...

After they left for work, I shopped around MS...bought a purple (:p) t-shirt...then an idea popped into my head after I cleared my rounds in MS... “da bao” coffee for them! So I went to millennia walk’s coffee bean n ordered 2 cappuccinos...called 1 of them to collect...n since she’s going to suntec’s dbs, we walked together...really miss my ex-office days...i even miss the office tower...not to say those days of working closely with them...those are the days...

After finishing my rounds @ suntec, I headed to raffles city...actually I’m in search of a watch...a white watch for a fren...but everywhere seems to be out of stock...ha...we’ll be trying one last time tomorrow...hey btw, white dun have, black can or not? :p we get the same la...ha...

Quite a fulfilling day I had...was quite happy w myself that I dun have to work today...忙里偷个闲...but I have to end this day w a sad news...ishi, 1 of the members of soul (superband) was found dead in his car...shocking news! soul is the group I supported throughout the competition and of course, I couldn’t believe my ears...LJ msned me the same just now...too shocked to hear it! Life is too fragile...dunno what happened and not sure why things have to end this way...life @ 26 n just graduated from ntu last yr...

大开眼界

Today, I finally had the chance of seeing one of the most expensive equipment we have in our hospitals...as the accounts mgr’s last day with the co. is tmr, she wants to see the equipment before she leaves...she wanted to see it during the launch but it was too crowded, so she didn’t have a chance...since I had to go to the hospital with her, she asked if I want to see it...of course, why not? I’ve called the HOD a few times abt this equipment, abt its work volume, utilization, etc, so to be able to see the real thing would be perfect...also, this is the only equipment in Southeast Asia and it’s the state-of-the-art machine...

Upon seeing it, our first reaction was “wow”...both of us...simultaneously... =p seeing it through our own eyes is definitely different from seeing it in picture...

The HOD then brought us to see the conventional machine...as we always compare the 2, now seeing both with my own eyes is really like a wish come true...no wonder the accounts manager said her wish is now finally fulfilled =)

Memo to All Employees:

In order to ensure the highest levels of quality work and productivity from employees, it will be our policy to keep all employees well trained through our program of SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (S.H.I.T) .

We are trying to give our employees more S.H.I.T than anyone else. If you feel that you do not receive your share of S.H.I.T on the course, please see your supervisor. You will be immediately placed at the top of the S.H.I.T list and our supervisors are especially skilled at seeing you get all the S.H.I.T you can handle.

One day in office, my fren, HY, sent me this email...which I find very amusing...this email put a smile + laughter to our boring office days...so I forwarded this to my asst mgr who I immediately found her laughing her head off... :p

Once in a while, we should find some entertainment in the office, so that it won’t so mundane and all work :p

Karaoke

Yesterday, a group of us, RT, L, S, HH, Ev (but left when everyone came n finished saying hello) and me went karaoke after work...this group of us originated from all of us being colleagues of the same company but from 3 diff depts...i was the last “member” of the group, cos I joined the company last...after that, Ev and L left the company first...followed by S...last yr...then this yr, HH also left...very soon next mth abt 3 more weeks, RT will be leaving too...they are all “leaving” me behind... ha...

Anyway, yesterday was an enjoyable session...i stayed till the end...cos normally I’ll leave earlier...RT is a very powerful singer...who can sing almost any songs...so we “challenged” some difficult songs like 靠近, and I also tried some first-time songs like 我怀念的，我又初恋了，我可以，退后，好听，some challenging songs like, 一眼万年，给自己的情歌，found some songs that I can’t find in kbox like 至少还有我（郑伊健），世界最美的风景（5566）…and we sang some interesting duets like, 广岛之恋，珊瑚海，千里之外，你那么爱她，生死相许, 好心分手。。。

Overall, it was very fun...hopefully the rest also think so :p

Full day

What a “full” day today...

my bro n I brought our mum to aijsen to have ramen for lunch...i ordered volcano ramen, my mum – pork curry, my bro – crayfish ramen...mine was quite spicy but very yummy and we were all very full after that...my mum thinks it’s too big serving and she commented she prefers crystal jade instead...ok, got the hint, will bring her to crystal jade next time :p

then for dinner, my father wanted to eat steamboat @ bugis...fathers’ day celebration so even though I’m not quite into steamboat, we went...we went “tian tian huo guo” which was quite crowded...we ordered half chicken wanton soup, half ‘ma-la’ soup (we were considering between ‘ma-la’ and tom yam actually but settled on ‘ma-la’ in the end) ...and ‘ma-la’ is indeed ‘ma-la’, as after a while, our lips started to feel numb...but it’s appetizing...however overall, it’s just normal steamboat...not much surprises (to me la) although it’s been advertised on tv...it’s $19.80+ per person and 2 soups for $10...i wonder why the soup $ is separately counted...how to eat steamboat without soup??

Ocean's 13

Went JP yesterday to watch ocean’s 13...i’ve always like ocean’s series...from 11 to 12, then now 13...what I like abt the series is the intelligence displayed in the movie...how they executed their fool-proof plan with their team of people with their perfect team spirit and cooperations, etc ...

The strong brotherhood and loyalty demonstrated in this series is very admirable...because one of them was cheated and hospitalized as a result, the other 10 came together to bring the justice back to him...

The other aspect that I like abt this series is George Clooney – Danny Ocean and Brad Pitt – Rusty Ryan, the 2 main casts of the show and team...George Clooney is very suave-looking in this ocean’s series, and Brad Pitt is still as good-looking as ever.

Btw, this is the best 3rd instalment that i've watched so far...after Spiderman3 & Pirates3... :)

Jigsaw puzzle

I was very attracted by this jigsaw puzzle...as all the characters look so happy n carefree...even eeyore looks less gloomy than he always seems to be...with flowers n butterflies, blue blue sky...so beautiful...so relax...

i was feeling down this week, and when I look at the pic, I feel my heart lightened n immediately i feel happier...this pic really made me forget my ‘troubles’ for now...

I like doing jigsaw puzzles...this is the 6th in my room...not counting those that i made n give away as presents...but I have a ‘bad’ habit...i always want to finish it asap, so even if I’m very tired, I’ll still continue...that's also my character...

This is the song of the Japanese drama, Pride, acted by Takuya Kimura...my fav Japanese actor :p
I like this drama, not just because it’s acted by takuya...even though he’s the main factor...this drama is also inspiring...

This drama is abt ice hockey where Halu (Takuya) is the captain of the team, Blue Scorpions...his trademark of clenching his left shoulder, “maybe” then “must be”, the strong brotherhood bond between him and his teammates are things that made this drama so attractive...Being sports, there are bound to have injuries and where people fall and have to pull themselves up again on their feet...

I like this kind of inspiring show...as it gives me motivation...the motivation to move on, to get back onto my feet if I fall...

LJ lent me this drama a few yrs back as she’s also a Takuya fan (more fan than i am)...and I fell in love with this show immediately...i think it was last yr that mediacorp actually screened it on tv, but as it was a 7pm slot, I kinda missed it almost everyday...or can only catch half of each episode...today, unexpectedly, i happened to read the newspapers' tv screening times n saw a familiar name! n faithfully tuned to it @ 1pm...very happy indeed to be able to watch it again even though it’s already screening the episode 7 & 8 today... :)

Sweet young age

My family and I went genting / kl over the long weekends (vesak day + took leave on fri)...at the casino, I was ‘stopped’ twice while entering...first was a female police who asked for my age...which I said “2x” (not going to reveal my age here :p), then she said ok...so I went in...after a while, I came out from the casino to take a walk, to enjoy the cold natural air outside the hotel/casino...later, I went back to the casino to look for my parents, I was ‘stopped’ again...this time, a male police...he asked for my age (again), which I told him, then he looked a bit surprised...so I asked if he wants to see my passport, he said no need but commented that I look very young...

Very happy to be 'stopped' because of this reason actually :p ...it made my day...haha...

Went shopping in kl...then this stall lady asked if I’m still studying? I said, no more, I’m already working...she asked is studying better or working better? and I said, of course studying better... :p

I remember abt 3 yrs back, LJ n I went to watch Brotherhood (acted by Won Bin & Jang Dong Gun) - a NC16 film, then this ticket auntie asked to see our IC...we were both stunned and looked at each other...how can we possibly look like we were under 16?! :p
