Strike Lottery!

I started my “fate” with MF in our washroom (of all places?!) ...from blank looks of “I-know-her-she-doesn’t-know-me”, then “I-know-her-she-knows-me”, slowly it became “smile” to each other when we met...recently, it advanced to “hi” and “bye”...i was actually very happy with this advancement...ha...then yesterday, I was like “wow”...my mood was so indescribable...

MF is someone who strikes “fear” in us...every time I send rpts to her, I always pray she doesn’t query...there was once I sent her 4 rpts, then she queried 3 of them...OMG!! MF, being our big boss, is someone who can “see” things that we cannot...well, we always console ourselves, if we can see what she sees, we CFO liao lor...she’s someone who’s never stingy with her nasty remarks/replies...n of course, we received replies like, “your figures are wrong!”, “why u all don’t do this?”, “why u all never check before sending?” Our mood can easily drop to the bottom of the pit from all these replies...as we all really put in our best effort in things we do/submit...so it can really be demoralizing...

But we also received complimentary emails from her...last yr, she sent one saying I’m very prompt in updating my rpt, etc...my mgr/asst mgr said I should print and frame it up :p cos it’s so uncommon...ha..., etc...but they said over the yrs, she has improved...now she will say thanks or nice things...in the past, fat hope...

We have been working extremely hard over the past couple of weeks...a lot of deadlines; a lot of top priorities...Yesterday, my mgr finally had to take a break for her cough which has been ongoing for a few days...she came in after seeing a doc, to rush things for MF...then finally couldn’t take it anymore, she sent an email to MF telling her she had to go due to her bad flu, for anything else, ask me...wa lau...then 5mins after she left, MF called...she asked whether we already did what she asked, separating 1 company from the rest of the companies...i told her we did, n I thought mgr has already sent her...well, she couldn’t find it, so I sent her...her tone over the phone was ok...ha, lucky...then I walked to the washroom...“met” her on my way...i was thinking, why of all people, her?? (maybe the more I don’t want to see her, the more I will bump into her)...ha...she said thanks, she received that rpt, then she asked if i helped in another rpt which i said no, mgr must have done it herself...she said mgr must be too sick, didn't do what she wanted, but she will do it herself...so i asked if she wants me to do for her, she said it's ok...wah...i was like over the moon, felt as if I strike lottery, first time “talked” so much and “thanks” wor :p

After lunch yesterday, I closed my email as I’m supposed to do/teach/see through something w my colleague who’s doing it for the first time...then abt 5pm, the SFC came out from her room to ask whether I’ve seen the email from MF...i said, opps...i was doing something else... SFC said she sent around 4+ leh...i was thinking, oh no!! upon checking, MF didn’t just send me 1 email...she sent 2!! Opps...i’m in for big trouble man...ha...lucky 1 email was just telling us to include something when we do it the next time...the other one was the one SFC was talking abt...heng ah!! So I quickly did what I can find and collate them for the SFC to reply MF...

Then suddenly, another email from MF...opps...asking for another rpt, actually, it’s my fault for closing down my email la... but I was already doing it, so I quickly replied when I saw her email...i think shortly after getting my email (around 6pm), she left the office...phew...i think I can finally end my day in peace now...ha...

When I finally alighted from my bus, I saw this sms from my mgr...she forwarded me the sms from MF – “Hi sori u fell sick Rest well Tks 4 yr help Sze Ling is good - M”...i was like “wow” again!! Couldn’t bear to keep smiling at myself :D, at the same time I wonder, what is it like to get an sms from MF? I don’t think I want to experience it :p
