Budget is an art, a science...

That’s the concluding statement by our group COO after today’s 2nd pass day 2 review...well...i agree...ha...in budget, we always try to build a perfect situation...is it realistic? is it just an unreachable target? Or is it really within our means and ability?

I had the chance to attend the pass2 review for day1 and day2...actually i’ve been working very hard to come up with a cost structure matrix for the spore ops division (of cos w discussions w my mgr) amongst many other things that we were supposed to prepare...last fri nite, sat morning n mon nite...n even the last 15 mins before the day1 review...ha...really killed a lot of brain cells over these few days... i'm glad i'm still alive n kicking...

When the cost structure matrix slide was shown yesterday, I suddenly felt a surge of pride and felt very touched by my own work...it was the first time we showed something like this, n the div heads including the COO, were quite impressed by what we've done...at that moment, I felt so proud of myself...for able to do something like that...during the day2 review, Dr G asked abt the cost structure to see how much that support dept is costing us...people do remember our work...i’m glad...all our hard work, late nites and brain cells...didn’t go to waste...although it’s too much work for a short showcase...

During today’s review, first, I had the honor to help get a chair for Dr G...Dr G was quite pai seh that I went to bring him the chair n he thanked me w his ever charming smile...n not to mention, for both days, he was wearing my favourite color...second, I had the honor to give up my chair for Mrs N T...third, I had the honor to look for another chair for Dr S...n Dr S finally can put my face to my name or my name to my face, after our few email correspondences...fourth, i had the chance to have a short conversation w the project mgt head who was totally unprepared for the review...but she came up w a very professional speech...i was super impressed...i guess no one except me knew she came unprepared...after her speech, she asked me how was it...i was shocked that she asked me, but at the same time, she really did do good...fifth, our corp comm head was trying to act cute by showing me the "spider" on his thumbdrive...well, i may be more appreciative if it's Dr G... :p

Nevertheless, pass2 is not the end of budget...budget is still ongoing...the numbers are still not finalized...i just have to continue to work hard...
